I first came to Costa Rica in 2004 with some friends. Being from Florida, this was an easy trip and after my first trip down, I started coming back a few times a year. In 2009, I closed down my business in the states and decided to move to Costa Rica and learn Spanish for a year. Here it is a decade later and I am still here. I guess I am a slow learner.
For many, Costa Rica is the dream destination for world-class sportfishing for all the right reasons. Over the years, this tiny country has risen in the ranks as a top destination for fishing and is arguably one of the best destinations in the world for billfish.
Are you looking for Costa Rica hotels for sale pre-bankruptcy? Or maybe you are searching for distressed luxury, multi-room Costa Rica villas and beach condos for sale? There are billions of dollars in luxury real estate in Costa Rica that will likely become increasingly distressed in coming months.
When planning an international fishing vacation it is imperative to know when to come and where to go if you are after a specific species. That is what we are here for. We have fishing and hotels partners all over the entire country so we can literally put you anywhere you want to go and more importantly, we can give you an unbiased opinion on what will be best for you.
Meeting new people is something I enjoy. Being in the travel industry, I enjoy meeting my clients and hearing their stories as well as making many lifelong friendships in the mix. Still today, it amazes me the people I have crossed paths with just living in Costa Rica.
Justin's favorite thing to do...
For the longest time, it was fishing and enjoying this great activity. I now enjoy introducing new people to this amazing sport and watching the smiles and memories it creates as friends, family and customers enjoy this amazing sport.
Top tip when traveling...
Live the moment. Meaning, don't try to have everything perfectly planned. Some of the best memories I have of Costa Rica are the moments when it was completely unscripted and we just lived the moment.
A Reel Difference Charity Program
"A REEL DIFFERENCE” is a program initiated by Brandon Walton and Justin DeBoom in July 2020, and adopted by the 501c3 charitable organization Neighbors Outreach Worldwide.
By donating freshly caught fish, promoting our world class charter fleet and working with other organizations to educate and open doors for the next generation of fishermen; A Reel Difference aims to overcome the economic difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 border closures.
Recent Traveler Stories
Last year at the end of December and first part of January Justin DeBoom set up a fishing package for our group of 4.We have fished before with Justin taking care of everything all we had to do is show up in the morning and get on the boat. My cousin who had never been deep sea fishing caught the first blue marlin for the season on the boat we were on, Great first day and everyone caught a sailfish, Mahi-Mahi were mixed in with the sailfish and it turned out to be a great day. On our 2nd outing Justin asked our captain to get us to where the tuna were and we were surrounded by dolphins and tuna. the sea was alive with tuna. We caught what we wanted and went after Mahi-Mahi. After catching all of the Mahi-Mahi we wanted we instructed our captain to take us to the Tortuga island to play in the sand. It was great to have someone like Justin who lives in the area and knows the captains of the boats in the harbor has a realistic of what his customers expect when they come to fish.
