As travel consultants, we often receive inquiries about vacation rentals from people unsure if it’s better than a hotel. Typically, it’s larger groups of family or friends seeking accommodation under one roof who ask us about rentals. Check the Location of Your Vacation Rental in Costa Rica

This is vital! Costa Rica is a small country, and on maps, everything appears close. However, many rental properties are located on side streets, dirt roads, or on remote mountain properties. While they may seem easy to access, the logistics and proximity to key amenities could mean travel times of 30 minutes, an hour, or even longer. Do your research and use Waze or Google Maps to obtain more accurate drive times for the properties.

The same goes for tours. If you have a list of activities you want to do, many tour operators will not service all rental home locations. The home might be out of route for their pick-ups, too far to service, or located on inaccessible roads where their vans can’t reach. By "work," we mean: who is cooking, who is going grocery shopping, do you have cleaning staff, do you have to pay for cleaning, or do it yourself?
