Guide to Visiting El Tigre Waterfall
Located within 60 hectares lies the El Tigre Waterfalls where you can find various species of animals such as monkeys, snakes, peccaries, a variety of insects, birds and others. The four different waterfalls are between 15 and 30 meters high and there are two different trails where you will cross rivers and stone paths. The walk will take approximately 3 hours with an additional 35-minute horseback ride at a medium level intensity.
Those adults in good physical condition and children 12 years of age and older with hiking experience are recommended for this tour.
After a 25-minute transfer from your hotel in Monteverde, you will arrive at El Tigre to begin the horseback ride. If the weather conditions allow it, you can observe the Arenal, Rincon de la Vieja, Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes from a wonderful viewpoint, as well as some sectors of the Guanacaste province and Arenal Lake. At the end, you will enjoy some snacks by the river and a 35 minutes horseback ride.
What to bring? Change of clothes, hiking shoes, raincoat, reusable bottle of water, camera.
