The Bougainvillea Hotel is a peaceful family-owned hotel with friendly staff, just a 30-minute drive from the San José airport. Ten acres of beautiful, well-kept gardens overlook the valley and nearby coffee plantations. There are 50 species of Bromeliad native trees, a variety of orchids, herbs, cactus, and a frog pond.

The hotel is a birdwatcher's heaven as you can spot some of the hard-to-find white-eared ground sparrows and sometimes even the Prevost’s ground sparrow! A hotel is an excellent option for anyone seeking a comfortable, unique, and authentic first or last night in Costa Rica, surrounded by the Central Valley countryside! The frog ponds were specially designed to help preserve the endangered "coffee frog."

Bougainvillea Hotel has 81 rooms with either garden or city views and is decorated with local art and Costa Rican pottery.
