Our representative will meet you at the Managua (MGA) airport upon arrival. After going through customs, you will see a glass door on your left. Pass through this door and your driver will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it.
No need to worry! Once you share your flight details with us, we'll monitor your flight and adjust your airport pickup accordingly.
You only need to contact us if:
- Your flight number changes.
- You switch to a different airline.

Before You Travel
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip against unexpected events such as flight disruptions, medical emergencies, or last-minute cancellations.

Mandatory documents to enter the country are:
- A valid passport
- A pre-paid airline (or bus) ticket exiting the country
- Online immigration form
We recommend you complete the online immigration form at least seven (7) days before arrival. Additional specific entry requirements depend on your country of citizenship. Currently, USA, Canada, and most European passports do not require a visa to enter the country.
We highly recommend getting the yellow fever vaccination at least 15 days before the date of arrival to Nicaragua, but it is not a requirement for USA, Canada, or European citizens. We recommend you have at least six (6) months of validity for your passport from your return date.
Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted, while American Express may be more limited and Discover is generally not accepted. We recommend notifying your bank or card provider before traveling.
It is also a good idea to carry at least $100 in cash for tips and small purchases. We recommend carrying $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills, as higher denominations are not widely accepted.
ATMs are available in most destinations, and we recommend keeping extra cash, valuables, and passports in your hotel safe whenever possible.
In-Country Questions
It's polite to offer a tip to service providers you feel satisfied with as a thank you for enhancing your vacation experience. There is no standard tipping courtesy, it's based upon how much you think they deserve.
Some guidelines are:
- Hotel bellboy: $1 per bag
- Hotel maids: $2 per day
- Waiters: 5-10% of the check
- Tour guides: $5 per person
- Drivers: $5 per each hour of service
- Fishing: 10% of the charter fee
Taxis are easy to find in destinations such as San Juan del Sur and Granada, but fares are not metered, so we recommend agreeing on the price before starting the ride. In Managua, we recommend using pre-arranged or authorized transportation whenever possible.
In general, for the smoothest and most comfortable experience, private transfers are always our preferred option.
A photo or physical copy of your passport may be required when checking in at some hotels or visiting certain national parks.
For tours that require passport information, such as national parks or fishing licenses, we'll request these details from you before your trip.
Unless your itinerary states otherwise, your driver or tour guide will meet you in your hotel's main lobby.
Occasional delays can happen due to traffic or other unexpected circumstances, so don’t worry if your driver arrives a few minutes late. If they are more than 10 minutes late, please contact our Travel Experience Team.
Medical care and pharmacies are available in Managua and most major destinations, while options may be more limited in remote areas.
We recommend bringing enough prescription medication for your entire trip, especially if you require a specific brand. For drinking water, we recommend bottled water whenever possible.
For a smooth departure, we recommend arriving at the airport at least three hours before your international flight to allow enough time for check-in, security, and immigration.
