Welcome to Chachagua Rainforest Hotel & Hot Springs
Chachagua Rainforest Hotel & Hot Springs sits on 300 acres of lush rainforest about 20 minutes away from the Arenal Volcano area and La Fortuna. It is close enough to enjoy the benefits of Costa Rica's adventure capital and far enough away to enjoy a truly natural environment.
It's not a hotel offering the volcano views one might expect in this part of Costa Rica; a stay here is more about experiencing the treasures of the rainforest. With only 28 rooms, Chachagua offers a boutique rather than a resort experience.
A Boutique Atmosphere
The hotel comprises 28 rooms and bungalows, all designed to offer guests an exceptional level of rainforest living - style and comfort surrounded by nature.
Each room or bungalow comes with air conditioning, a king-size bed or two queen-sized beds, flat-screen TV, wifi, a terrace or verandah with rainforest views (complete with hammocks), and other modern amenities. In addition, the calm design and wood furnishings serve to create a sense of peace and wellness amid the surrounding nature.
Some of the bungalows also include upgraded minibars and jacuzzis to enjoy the sounds of the jungle in style.
Enjoy the Rainforest in Style
Outside of the rooms and bungalows, the common areas at Chachagua center around the restaurant - called Colibri - which serves a variety of healthy and delicious home-cooked meals with a Costa Rican flair. All ingredients making up the Colibri menu are sourced locally or grown on-site.
Also at the restaurant is a bar and pool area - it's like this common area blends into one - so diners can enjoy the natural spring-fed waters of the pool with a drink in hand while soaking up the sunshine and listening to the sounds of birds, frogs, and monkeys around them.
Tropical Adventures Galore
Guests looking to experience more of the forest while staying on-site can enjoy a network of walking trails on the hotel's property, keeping their eyes and ears out for tropical wildlife. The courses at Chachagua lead to waterfalls, streams, and swimming holes for adventurous families to enjoy. While staying at Chachagua, nature lovers should take the on-site guided birdwatching tour, either first thing in the morning or late afternoon, to experience a range of wildlife they would miss if they explored on their own.
While Chachagua lies a little further away than other hotels in the Arenal Volcano area, it's still possible to experience all that the adventure capital of Costa Rica has to offer from here.
