The Peace Lodge is one of Costa Rica's most romantic hotels with 16 guest rooms and two villas, all built in a Swiss-style mountain chalet way which reflects perfectly the surrounding terrain. The La Paz Waterfall Gardens are Costa Rica's most famous and most visited privately-owned ecological park, which opened in 2000. The gardens protect some 40 acres of cloud forest and rainforest around the banks of the La Paz River and its stunning waterfalls. Over two miles of hiking trails and viewing platforms run alongside the river and waterfalls, providing visitors with an incredible natural experience.

Elsewhere at La Paz, the park boasts attractions, including a rescued wildlife sanctuary housing over 100 animals, including jungle cats, monkeys, snakes, sloths, frogs, birds, and more. There's also a replica of a historical Costa Rican rural home and a petting zoo featuring farm animals for the kids. The entire park is open to the public between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, but guests at the Peace Lodge have the place outside these hours.

The Colibries Restaurant is open for lunch and features a buffet full of Costa Rican and international dishes. Then the upscale Vista Poas Restaurant offers a fine dining experience. The Big Trout Bar for lunch and cocktails, Tortillas Restaurant for breakfast, and the Las Tucas Lounge bar. And don’t forget the cafe at the bottom of the trail after you finish the waterfall hike.
