Tortuga Island Catamaran
Visit a Gorgeous Uninhabited Island, Swim, Snorkel, Sunbathe, & Relax!
The Tortuga Island Catamaran Cruise is a wonderful day in the sun enjoying a catamaran cruise, white sand beaches, and turquoise waters. Perfect for anyone looking to snorkel, sunbathe, swim, eat, and drink delicious tropical food and, ultimately, relax.
The day begins when you are picked up from your hotel and driven to the Pacific port of Puntarenas – the oldest port city in Costa Rica. At the port, enjoy a hot buffet breakfast in a local restaurant before boarding the Manta Ray Catamaran. The Manta Ray has a full bar, spacious main salon, expansive deck area, and two freshwater deck pools.
Once under way, the Manta Ray makes her way through the calm waters in the Gulf of Nicoya until you reach the Tortuga Island. The island is known for its immaculate white sand beach and turquoise waters, a perfect stop for swimming and snorkeling.
It’s also known for its unusual inhabitants, a family of peccaries, now wild on this uninhabited island. While most of them live in the mountainous areas near the beach and only come down to coax food from visitors, one is actually tame and loves to spend time near people. You’ll want your camera!
Enjoy a fantastic BBQ lunch with live music accompanied with wine, right on the beach. In the afternoon, your Captain will take a different route back to Puntarenas passing close to the bird sanctuary island of Guayabo, home of the Brown Pelican and Frigate, as well as other islands only visible in the inner Gulf of Nicoya en route to Puntarenas.
