The Arenal, hanging bridges, and farm visit combo is a great tour for anyone who wants to get up close and personal with the native flora and fauna of the rainforest and then experience rural life in Costa Rica.

After a short drive from your hotel, arrive at hanging bridges set in a 250-hectare reserve of primary forest. The two-mile trail has 16 state-of-the-art hanging bridges that introduce you to the forest’s rich biodiversity and loop you through the mountainous area. The forest is home to many animals and birds like howler monkeys, poison dart frogs, red frogs, snakes, toucans, and parrots. This fun and informative 2.5-hour walk will allow you to have close contact with nature and learn more about the forest and its inhabitants.

You’ll continue your time in the Costa Rican forest when you head to the beautiful La Fortuna Waterfall, which is located at the bottom of the dormant volcano Cerro Chato. Just a 20-minute hike and you’re down at the foot of the 230-foot waterfall. Enjoy the views, take some photos, or take a dip in the swimming hole.

Next, you will be on your way to Arenal Volcano National Park. Once surrounded by lush dense rainforest, Arenal Volcano erupted in 1968, when three craters burst open and covered the area in lava. Almost forty years later, the forest re-energized and is now a protected national park spanning over 26,000 hectares. On your two-mile hike, you will have the opportunity to see a great array of wildlife such as howler or white-faced capuchin monkeys, deer, tapirs, and snakes, and birds like mot mots, parrots, orioles, and brown magpies.

The last part of this combo is a unique dining opportunity!. Finca Vida Campesina is a small educational farm. You’ll be enjoying an organic lunch, cooked on a traditional wood stove.
