Staying at Villa Palacio comes with full access to all resort amenities, including three main pool sections: Las Lagunas, Perdido Springs, and Club Rio Springs, several bars and restaurants, full-service spa, and fitness center.

On-site Hot Springs

The fresh mineral water is pumped from a nearby river. Each pool was designed to blend seamlessly with the surroundings, and several have small details like human-made waterfalls where you can sit and let the water relax your shoulders.

Las Lagunas has terraces and 12 pools with views of Arenal Volcano. There is also a swim-up bar.

The Perdido Springs are seven pools hidden between the vegetation, connected by trails. This is the section that has the monkey waterslide, so make sure to visit, the kids especially will love it.

The hot springs at Club Rio are located near the river that crosses the property, providing canyon and rainforest views.

Club Rio: On-site Adventure Center & Wildlife Reserve

Club del Rio has many activities you can enjoy, including kayaking, river tubing, horseback riding, hiking trails, nature tours, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, and the hot springs. This variety means there is something for every type of traveler!

One of the main attractions is the resort’s Wildlife Reserve. Both kids and grown-ups alike can admire Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity up close. Among the rescued residents are pumas, ocelots, margays, jaguarundis, capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, sloths, scarlet macaws, wild turkeys, and more.

Outside visitors can enter Club del Rio, so reserve your space and pay attention to the schedules so you can make the most of your trip.

The Villa

The indoor living area has a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, ice maker and microwave as well as a counter bar area. There is also a dining table for 8 people and a large semicircular couch and coffee table. In front of the living room is a covered loggia furnished with a wrap-around sofa and table overlooking the various terraces and the infinity bordered jacuzzi and pool. For outdoor dining there is a poolside Gazebo with a 10-person dining table and an open air, circular fire pit terrace.

The view looks out directly to the Volcano over a sun terrace and a heated Lagoon-style pool with an infinity edge and waterfall along with an embedded infinity edge overflow Jacuzzi. The patio has two outdoor loggias featuring a dining table for six on one side and a comfortable seating area on the other. The “Great Room” is also equipped with an LCD TV along with a surround sound system with mobile compatibility.

Room Details

The Laguna Room is in the west wing of the villa. Spacious suite (796 sq. ft.) boasts two full bathrooms, a king size bed, a queen size trundle bed and a full-size sofa. The room also has his and hers desks and closets as well as a minibar and a two-person jacuzzi tub on the balcony.

The Bahia Room is the east wing of the villa and this room plan (775 sq. ft.) features a split-level plan with the bed and bathroom on the top level and a two-step lower living area with a sofa bed, love seat and minibar. An enormous marble bathroom with oversized shower and a jacuzzi tub.

The center of the building features a master bedroom on the second floor with a full marble bath and a jacuzzi and hammock on the over-sized balcony.

On the back of the building there are two guest rooms (one on each floor) with two king beds in each of them and large full bathrooms.

There are two guest housed on either side of the villa, available as additional space to rent.

Both are dual master bedrooms complete with grand marbled master baths with Jacuzzi tubs, oversized indoor showers and outdoor landscaped garden showers. Each detached master has its own wet minibar with refrigerator and coffee maker, private terrace and loggia with twin hammocks. The Palm Bungalow Master side also has an outdoor private Jacuzzi on the patio.

Vila Palacio Amenities

Villa amenities include a 50-foot wide infinity pool and a 12-person 360° infinity-edge jacuzzi with a magnificent view of the Arenal Volcano. The property also features recreational area including 9-hole putting green, basketball court, Bocce court, table tennis, darts, and an extensive organic farm maze.
