Knowing I had one extra semester left of college more than my friends (everyone needs a victory lap, right?) I found a program that allowed me to finish my Biology degree and intern at a local clinic for 4 months here in Costa Rica. That was 5 years ago, and if you can’t guess this by now, I never left! I spent some time living at the beach and now call San Jose my home, which is the perfect base for weekend trips to the beach, my preferred pastime.

Notes on Costa Rica

Unique Honeymoon Spots

Thinking of Costa Rica for your honeymoon, but want more than just a relaxing time on the beach? While some people prefer to take it easy after the stress of the wedding, others may be looking to take advantage of the chance to make it the trip of a lifetime.

Tips for Women Traveling Alone

Costa Rica is a great country to explore on your own—especially if you’re independent, experienced traveler that already has her own agenda of things to do and see. Besides the general tips on traveling alone to any country, here are few more on women traveling alone to Costa Rica.

Let's get personal

Fun facts about me...

I have been an Irish dancer since I was three years old which is where my love for traveling began, competing all over the world!
I am the oldest of nine siblings, ranging from 27 to 8 years old, so I thrive in large groups.

My favorite thing to do...

Going to the beach with my golden retriever, Nala, traveling, dancing, scuba diving, running, hiking, anything outdoors!

Top tip when traveling in Costa Rica

Don’t be afraid of “long” drive times! Costa Rica is small, but so are the roads here, so oftentimes it takes some time to get from the jungle to the beach, which you can’t miss out on! The drives usually become a tour in and of themselves and many clients say it was their favorite part of the trip. Vamos!

Recent Traveler Stories

Costa Rican Vacations, though Namu Travel is the way to go. Our travel consultant/planner was Kathleen Hall and she was FANTASTIC. The planning process was long (due to my own personal issues), and I was pretty high maintenance, but Kathleen never gave up on me. She was enthusiastic, flexible and creative. And we had the BEST TRIP EVER. I seriously just want to turn around and do exactly the same trip all over again. Everything went perfectly, they were there for us if we had any questions, and of course Costa Rica is just so wonderful. Go. And go with CRV. You won't regret it.

Kathleen Hall was our travel consultant. She listened to everything I asked about activities, locations (rainforest, beach, towns), hotels, etc. and booked great choices all the way. We were picked up on time, in clean vehicles. We had fabulous tour guides for EVERY activity. The ones where meals were included, fed us with traditional Costa Rican food and we loved it!! We totally want to go to Costa Rica again and would definitely use Kathleen's services and those of Costa Rican Vacations. You won't go wrong choosing this company, and especially Kathleen Hall!! 5 stars all around.

I was apprehensive about working with a foreign travel agency as I did not know them. I am extremely happy to say that my worries were unfounded as CRV is a reputable and awesome company to work with. I had the pleasure of working with Kathleen Hall who did an outstanding job of planning our various stays as we traveled through Costa Rica. I am a nervous traveler when I don't know the language and Kathleen arranged for drivers for every stage of our trip so I didn't have to worry about how we were getting from hotel to hotel or to our excursions. This was probably the best foreign vacation I've ever taken due to the stress free environment with CRV's oversight and of course the amazing and friendly country itself. We plan to go back and I will use Kathleen and CRV again and highly recommend her and the company for anyone thinking of traveling to Costa Rica. Kathleen will work with you to find the right locations and excursions that will make your time perfect.
