Watch carefully, because the park’s inhabitants are all around you if you know what you're looking for. White-faced capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, red back squirrel monkeys, three toed and two toed sloths, agoutis, coatis, bright land crabs, various butterflies, pelicans, common black hawks, laughing falcons, kingfishers and toucans are but some of the exotic creatures you may encounter during your visit!
Manuel Antonio is one of the foremost nature viewing spots in all of Central America, it is filled with all kinds of wildlife from the land, water and sky. For those interested in seeing exotic animals in their natural habitat, this is the best place to be!
The tour begins with a pick up from your hotel and a 5 to 10 minute drive to the park. From here you will begin your 3.5 hour magical tour, as you hike along the trails you will be astounded by the mixture of exotic flora and fauna and marine life hiding just beneath the sea. Halfway through the hike, you will stop to rest and enjoy a snack of cold water, fruit and cookies before continuing on with the rest of the tour.
The half-day tour includes a naturalist tour guide with spotting equipment, transportation, snack, and entrance fees. It is recommended that you bring binoculars, camera, sunscreen, bug spray, light clothing and hiking shoes or sports sandals. Bathing suit and towel are necessary if you plan to stay to swim in the Park after the tour (which is recommended as the calm coves beat the crashing waves of the beach outside of the park), and a light poncho is recommended from May thru December.
Please inquire about private tours. Minimum allowance is 2 people.
