The Quepos area has always been well known as a fishing town and the tourism industry has given way to sport fishing charters galore. Our sports fishing company of choice is a local company called Bluefin. The company offers half-day and full-day charters as well as customized multi-day trips geared to the demands of the client. Bluefin is actively involved in the preservation of bill fish in Costa Rica through the Billfish Foundation of Fort Lauderdale Florida, and is also associated with Jardin Gaia Wildlife Rescue in Quepos. Eco-tourism is taken quite seriously in Costa Rica and most tourism companies will have their own eco-policies. Bluefin recycles all engine oil and only uses diesel fuel that does not contain lead to help keep the environment clean.
