All hotels in Tortuguero are very rustic, so be aware of this when you go here, do not expect the Four Seasons. The Laguna Lodge is a comfortable hotel and is well located close to the Tortuguero National Park and the beaches. If you go out at sunset or sunrise you will see (Jul-Nov) either the nesting turtles coming on to the beaches or the baby turtles hatching, it really is a unique sight. I may suggest hiring a guide as they help to no end and assure you won't be disturbing the amazing process. The tour of the National park was great, all by boat which meant you just relaxed. The food at the hotel was served buffet style and is included in the rate. It was OK however no fine dining. The staff were very knowledgeable about the area and willing to help.
