Sometimes people just like to get out of the city and enjoy a country atmosphere. San Jose does not really have much to offer a tourist unless you are into Tin Shacks. The Finca Rosa Blanca is located in the hills of Heredia overlooking the Central Valley below. The hotel prides itself on its boutique eco-luxury image and follows this throughout the property.
The rooms have beautiful decor with inside/outside bathrooms and some have Jacuzzis. The setting is great for couples, however families should not rule this possibility out. The hotel is exclusive to say the least as the hotel does not paint its marketing everywhere.
If you are looking for a boutique hotel not in San Jose, be sure to stay here. | | | | | | Posted By Guest on 9/10/2009 9:52:35 AM
Finca Rosa Blanca is located in the Hills above San Jose, around 25 minutes from the International Airport, and incidentally around 10 minutes from my house! For me it is the perfect introduction to Costa Rica, or the perfect way to end a vacation, or in my case the best way to get away for a weekend in the hills, escaping the heat of the Capital.
It is a very beautiful 4 star Country Inn, located on a Coffee Plantation that offers excellent home grown coffee, which is free in the mornings. They also have Coffee tours and horse back tours to see the local vistas. The Finca Rosa Blanca is part of the Cayuga Chain of Hotels which includes Arenas del Mar, Lapa Rios, The Harmony Hotel and Latitude 10, so service is excellent, without being over bearing. Everybody will do their best to help you in any which way on a first name basis.
For me it is easily one of my favorite hotels in the country, more so as it is really an Inn with 13 very different unique rooms, each with its own atmosphere. This includes a wonderful Master Suite with stunning 360 degree views, and the wonderful villas with 2 Junior Suites that are perfect for families.
The trails around the area are great for wandering, the pool is lovely with a nice little romantic Jacuzzi to relax under the stars. On top of quality dinning in the evenings this really is a wonderful way to escape the hassle of everyday life. One will not be disappointed except when you have to head home!
This is easily on of my top getaway spots in the country.
