Punta Islita is an amazing hotel in Costa Rica, which is perched on a secluded cliff and stretches down below to the water. There are two pools (one infinity pool) near to the restaurant and reception on the top of the cliff where you have the best views. The second pool is down at the beach with a rancho style restaurant right in reach. Most people fly to Punta Islita and I would recommend this especially in green season due to the conditions of the local roads. The service starts from the moment you get off the flight and on to the airstrip. What I love most, is that Punta Islita is known as one of the most luxurious hotels in Costa Rica, yet it keeps a comfortable tropical feel with thatched roofs and decorated with art made by the local townspeople. | | | | | | Posted By Guest on 9/10/2009 9:57:10 AM
Punta Islita as a small 5 star, eco-friendly resort hotel over looking the rugged shore line of south-west Guanacaste. Punta Islita is best reached by air, as the local airstrip is located 10 minutes away and driving there can take a while depending on where your coming from, and can get a little treacherous during the Green Season.
They have lovely facilities, including a fair 9 hole, Par 3 Golf Course, which has great views if not a little over priced. There are also tennis courts, a small gym, Beach Club with swimming pool, as well as an infinity pool next to their open air style Restaurant.
The beach is not much to look at or enjoy, so the pools are the best spots to relax under the heat of the Guanacaste sun. The staff are more than happy to help you out, and offer good service, if not sometimes taking their time to do so.
The hotel is perfect for Honeymooners, or even large families as the Villas and 3 bedroom houses offer more stunning views down the resort to the sea as well as seclusion and their own plunge pools, that are very reasonably priced.
The dining is also very good indeed, but quite pricey as are the Deluxe Rooms and Suites, but all in all it maybe worth it for 3 or 4 nights to relax in one area that seems to be dislocated somewhat from the main tourist trail in Costa Rica.
With it’s stunning views, good dining, and great facilities I can see why this Hotel has won as many awards as it has, you just have to take the time to get to it, to enjoy it!
