This was my 5th time to Latitude 10, so you probably know how this is going to go, but please do not look anywhere else. If what you are looking for is a totally relaxed, cultural and friendly stay in a unique location with nature then look no further. Every time I go to this private resort my jaw hits the floor as the whole resort (5 rooms) is right there on the ocean and is 100% private. The rooms have no glass in them and are totally open, you may be asking about AC and bugs, I will tell you there are none. You will not get bitten by mosquito's, there are none. You will not need AC, actually you will be cold at night as the ocean breezes keep you cool. The rooms are made of Almond Wood and are all private suites and you fall asleep and awake to the sound of the ocean. The pool and recreational area is totally open and feels like being in an open air house as the kitchen is open. You can sit in the pool and it feels like you are in the ocean as you can hear the waves crashing and smell the salt in the air.
In the area you can visit the Cabo Blanco national Park, Snorkel, surf, ATV's, canopy, fishing, etc. There are lots of tours to do and you will never be bored. This is a great honeymoon destination but also families looking for a little more natural stay in Costa Rica would like it. The staff are great and totally relaxed but attentive, it is my favourite hotel in Costa Rica!!

Nestled into the rainforest of Mal Pais Latitude 10 is truly a luxurious boutique hotel.
The five suites are spread throughout the property and each boasts a beautiful
canopy bed and outdoor shower and bathroom area. For those that love
nature it is perfect as you see lizards, squirrels and hummingbirds whilst cleaning your
teeth. I was lucky enough to stay in a Master Suite which enjoyed an indoor sitting area as
well as a beautiful wrap around verandah complete with hammock. What a beautiful
spot to relax. There is no air conditioning in the suites and initially I was somewhat skeptical whether
it would be possible to stay cool. The suites are situated to take advantage of the ocean
breezes and combined with the high ceilings and fans it can almost be a little chilly of an evening.
The only hitch I see is getting to Mal Pais as the ferry from Puntarenas can fill quickly
and often you need to arrive at the terminal hours ahead if you want to secure a spot for your car. Flying into Tambor and taking a transfer would be my preferred option.
