La Mariposa has the most amazing views in Costa Rica, no one can argue with this! My friend got married at La Mariposa in April. The ocean views in the background were so incredible! They have recently remolded some of the rooms and the pool area, and the difference is stunning. If you stay at Mariposa, try to stay in a premier room. The standard rooms are very standard with no TV or fridge. They are nice but simple and the prices can be high for the quality and amenities during high season. If you are looking for exquisite accommodations and a resort style hotel on the beach, you will not like La Mariposa. La Mariposa is for those looking for a B&B style hotel, amazing views, and simplicity.

Views from La Mariposa are some of the most gorgeous I’ve ever seen. It’s no wonder why this hotel was named one of the best 100 hotels in the world, and also one of the places to see before you die. When I brought friends here it took their breath away, you would have thought I had given them each a million dollars. Rooms are spread out along the mountainside and all of the buildings definitely give a Mediterranean vibe. Most impressive is how La Mariposa continues to improve its look year after year. There have been recent renovations to the pool and rooms, a sure sign that Mariposa is always headed in a positive direction. Service here is also unbeatable, especially when it comes to dining. The restaurant sits atop the mountainside overlooking the ocean and rain forest below. Sunsets and views from the indoor and outdoor terrace are incredible. What is more, the breakfast buffet here is an impressive spread displayed beautifully, and it tastes even better. The wait staff is efficient in providing great service everywhere in the hotel. Cleanliness, friendliness and overall tranquility are three staples that Mariposa provides without hesitation. Hotels such as this are often underappreciated because they run so smoothly. I would highly recommend staying here. There is also a nice gift shop with really great local art.

La Mariposa is an incredible resort with hands-down some of the best views of the Pacific Ocean I've personally ever seen. Whether you're in your room, the hotel lobby, the restaurant, pool area, or bar, you can't help but stare into horizon. If you're looking for the best views of the beautiful Manuel Antonio, this hotel is for you! The resort itself is a touch out-dated, but everything is clean and fresh. The restaurant is terrific and the new infinity pool area is the ultimate in relaxation with two swim-up bars and a jacuzzi! All in all, this is a wonderful resort with outstanding views and nice accommodations.
