Playa Samara
Samara is located in Guanacaste and is 245km away from the capital city of San Jose where two daily buses leave from. Playa Samara is one of the finest beaches in Costa Rica thanks to its’ peaceful nature and reasonably developed infrastructure and is a popular destination for many Tico’s looking to escape for the weekend as well as a being a trendy destination for a host of tourists.
Many tours can be enjoyed in the area including snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, deep sea fishing, Para-gliding and horseback riding amongst several others whilst long walks along the 5km long beach give you the chance to enjoy some stunning views.
In recent years the area has undergone a transformation and several restaurants and hotels have sprung up to cater for the growing demand of visitors to the region on the sea front. Hotels vary from cheap backpackers resorts for travelers with a strict budget to high end luxurious ones. One of the most formidable hotels in the region is Hotel Punta Islita which is a great place to stop into for a sunset drink.
Just down the road from Playa Samara you will find Playa Carrillo which is definitely worth visiting due to its untouched beauty. No town can be found here just the sandy beach, palm trees and stunning views.
