Tambor Puntarenas
Located on the south of the Peninsula de Nicoya, Puntarenas, Tambor is a fast growing yet easy going place. Tambor is quickly becoming a premier destination for tourists seeking beautiful beaches and spectacular nature. Aside from tourists, Tambor has become an investor’s paradise as well, with many high-end vacation homes and a nine hole golf course.
Getting to Tambor is as easy as a short domestic flight from San Jose to the local airport just outside of town. Although flying is the easiest way to get there, there are also plenty of buses. Driving to Tambor is an experience in itself. Although the road is a bit bumpy, the scenery and the ferry ride are quite worth it.
Once in Tambor, there are plenty of things to do and places to stay. There are many boutique hotels and larger resorts in the area, including the first all-inclusive resort in Costa Rica. One of the main attractions is the annual migration of whales that come to the bay to mate and give birth. There are also plenty of options to do deep sea sport fishing. Also, Tambor is within close distance to a national park and wildlife refuge.
Tambor has a a lot to offer, and may be enjoyed year round thanks to its temperate, beautiful weather.
