A nature lover's paradise!  Tucked away in a highland cloud forest, Los Quetzales Lodge and Spa is the ideal place for those longing to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern living.

Located at 6,800 feet above sea-level, the Lodge is situated within a private reserve in the Volcan Baru National Park, adjacent to the one million acre La Amistad International Biosphere Preserve. Los Quetzales offers its guests two distinctive lodging choices to choose from: a 10-room riverside hotel complex in the picturesque town of Guadalupe, or one of the four fully equipped chalets located within the Volcán Baru National Park.

Four incredibly unique forest chalets nestled deep into natural surroundings feature fireplaces, living rooms, private kitchens, skylights and observation balconies, bathrooms with hot water, and kerosene lanterns. 

These are magical accommodations that feel as if borrowed from another time, or perhaps a fairy tale.  There is no electricity in this remote, serene setting, only generated power and candle or kerosene light.  It's a wonderful throwback to simpler times.

Guests can have the unforgettable and rare experience of seeing the resplendent quetzal in its natural habitat. Activities include: guided tours, bird watching, orchid observation, horseback riding, mountain bike trips, hiking and trekking. There are miles of hiking trails and an abundance of natural beauty.
