Location: Istana Plantations is a 1,200-acre guarded / gated master planned community on “The Lost Coast” of The Republic of Panama, located on the Pacific Ocean in the Chiriqui Lowlands near the city of David -- accessible by land, sea, and air. By land, travel time is approximately 20 minutes from Horconcitos, District of San Lorenzo, Province of Chiriqui, a one hour drive from the city of David, or five hours drive from Panama City. There are several daily flights between David and Panama City, as well as between David and other cities in Panama.

Istana Plantations is accessible by boat from Pedregal Marina in David and has mooring available as well as a concrete pier and boat launch with dry dock storage facilities for boats of 30 feet or less in length. A helipad is currently under construction for anyone who chooses to travel to the Plantation by air – and also to provide a landing site for emergency medical flights.

An Easy Way To Obtain Residency: The Panamanian Government has made it possible for foreigners to acquire Panamanian residency through reforestation projects certified by Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente (ANAM). Certified Forestry Engineers employed by Istana Plantations work closely with ANAM to maintain and manage Istana Plantation's reforested areas to ensure sound ecological and conservation management practices are consistently applied within the project. Istana Plantations existing reforestation projects comprising more than 70 hectares (170 acres) of teak and African mahogany trees have received ANAM certification!

Spectacular Views and Home Sites: Phase I - Rincon Beach - The development and sale of this select area for upscale ocean view and beach front housing - with lots of 3,000 square meters (.74 acres) or more with minimum ocean frontage of 30 meters (98.4 feet) is now in progress. The purchase of oceanfront lots can be combined with an investment in Istana Plantation’s reforestation project in order to qualify purchasers for Panamanian residency under Law #24. All properties are titled and purchases will be registered in the Panamanian Public Registry.
