Boca Chica
Boca Chica is a tiny village on the Pacific Coast of the Chiriqui Province in Panama. The town is just 30 minutes off the Inter-American highway, or a bit over an hour from David and two hours from Boquete. Once you turn off the highway, the bright colors of Chiriqui pop out at you from the deep orange clay, green verdant fields and blue mountains in the background fading to gray.
While the town is technically on the coast, it sits in front of an archipelgeo of more than 100 islands in the golf of Chiriqui, making the waterway appear more like a river. The water is the main source of life and recreation in the region. Boat tours to nearby secluded islands, sport fishing, diving and snorkeling, whale watching, sea kayaking and more!
Boutique hotel accommodations can be found on some of the surrounding islands, offering a beautiful and natural getaway. Your explorations in the area may just have you stumbling across indigenous settlements or spotting sea turtles, dolphins and whales in their natural habitat.
