Pedasi
Pedasi is located in Panama’s traditional heartland just minutes from the beach on the Azuero Peninsula. The small town is built around the central plaza that hosts the town church, while the atmosphere is a mixture of beach culture and rural Panamanian traditions. The area is relatively non-touristy and the town’s main shopping center offers a local art gallery, diving operator, surf shop, a pizza restaurant, a few casual dining options and typical bars.
The lifestyle here is slow while the vibrant colors add spice to daily red with homes painted in vivid reds, yellows, blues and greens. Most visitors head to the beach where you are likely to feel like you are the only one present along miles of pristine coastline. Nearby beaches like Playa Venao, Destiladeros and Modrono offer great surfing options for all levels, and the offshore fishing in the area is sure not to disappoint.
A 20-minute boat ride from the beach will bring you to Isla Iguana, a renowned scuba and snorkeling destination. Local marine life includes whales, dolphins, sea turtles and more.
