Day 1: After your arrival to the Panama airport our private transfer will pick you up in a private air conditioned microbus and take you to the grand
Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Deep within the heart of the Panamanian rain forest lies a place where Mother Nature and the human spirit co-exist. This hotel provides peaceful rejuvenation for the mind and soul. Here you can enjoy a visit to the orchid nursery, garden house, serpentarium, butterfly house, fish & reptiles exhibit, aerial tram, observation tower, birdwatching or fishing.
Day 2: Today you will take the
Jungle Challenge. A professional guide will point out the flora and fauna that inhabit this rich environment along your hiking and rapelling adventure. After an hour of hiking, you will reach the headwater of Iguana Creek. Rapel down the slippery, 20 meter rock face, where you'll be rewarded with a refreshing swim beneath the cool waterfalls. You’ll continue to trek through unpredictable jungle terrain until you reach the final waterfall. From here enjoy a canoe transfer to a nearby Emberá Indian Village where you can relax and enjoy a typical lunch with the natives.
Day 3: To keep the adrenaline pumping, today you will go Caving in the Chagres National Park where numerous caves exist along the southern shore of Lake Alajuela. Traverse a series of passages where one of the most intrepid spelunking experiences awaits. Here you will crawl through several small spaces which lead to large rooms. The sensation of being in the belly of Mother Earth where few have dared to enter is un-describable. Your heart begins to pound as you realize you’re several meters below ground and all you have is your trusty headlamp. A picnic lunch is provided halfway through the exploration. Prepare to get muddy!
Day 4: Take a short flight on a twin engine aircraft to David in the Chiriqui province of Panama. A quick ground transfer will drop you off in time for your
Boquete Tree Trek Canopy Tour. Glide through the treetops of century-old forests, suspended by a cable high above the pristine rivers and waterfalls that make up the incredible collection of natural landscapes bordering the National Park La Amistad and the famous Baru volcano. You will stay at the
Los Establos Hotel, located 4,000 feet above sea level in the flanks of the Baru
Volcano. This boutique bed and breakfast sits on 12 acres of an estate quality coffee plantation, and is ideal for rest and relaxation.
Day 5: Keeping up with the pace of the rest of your trip, its time for more adventure! Today you will take on class III and IV white water rapids along the Chiriqui river before another night of relaxation at Los Establos.
Day 6: It's time to slow things down, but just a bit. Go by horseback along the Baru Volcano, the tallest mountain in Panama at 11,400 ft, en route to the Caldera Hotsprings. This natural wonder is produced by the emergence of geo-thermally-heated groundwater from the earth's crust. Lounge in the 3 baths of varying temperatures and try the detoxifying effects of a volcanic mud before washing off in the cool waters of the Chiriqui River. This expedition includes a hike to local petroglyphs, drawings on a volcanic rock that depict a variety of animals, spheres and other objects.
Day 7: Take a short flight on a twin engine aircraft back to
Panama City today where you'll stay at the DeVille Hotel, a charming and exclusive property set in the heart of the city's financial district. Enjoy the distinct contrast of the city in comparison with the natural wonders you've experienced. Spend your evening wandering the
Colonial Casco Antiguo district or catch a meal along the Amador Causeway, a man-made peninsula offering gorgeous views of the city skyline.
Day 8: Your Panama adventure has come to an end. Take a transfer to the airport for your international flight home.
