Day 1 : Welcome to Panama! Upon arrival, our representative will meet you inside of the Tocumen International Airport and take you via private ground transfer just north of Panama City to the Gamboa National Park for a stay at the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. You will enjoy a 4 night stay here with beautiful views from your room of the main water source to the Panama Canal---the Chagres River. Day 2 : If you are a birding enthusiast and you haven't yet been to Panama, you don't know what you're missing. Panama boasts 954 bird species, more than the US and Canada combined. Further making Panama a birder's dream-come-true is the easy access to most of the bird-rich locations. Today, you will enjoy a full day Birding Adventure that takes you to the famous Pipeline Road Trail. Expect to get wet during the green season.Bring your own binoculars, towel, small backpack, change of clothes, water bottle (nalgene is preferable) sun block and sunglasses. Duration: 6 hours approx. Return to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort for your night's stay. Day 3 : No trip to Panama is complete without a stop at the famous Canal. This privately guided, half-day tour begins in the Old Town of Panama City known as Casco Viejo. As the most cultural part of the city, Casco Viejo is know a UNESCO World Heritage site and is full of history and beautiful architecture. You will continue your tour at the Panama Canal (Miraflores Locks museum).Duration: 4 hours approx. Return to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Day 4 : Return to the rainforest to check out additional bird species, but this time walk along the old Camino de Cruces Trail. This legendary trail was the route used by Henry Morgan to sack Panama City in 1671. Completed around 1550, this is one of the first roads built by the Spanish Conquistadors. The Camino de Cruces lies within Soberania National Park, which is also just north of Panama City. This tropical rainforest offers excellent opportunities for nature and birding enthusiasts. Return to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Day5 : Our driver will pick you up at your hotel this morning and take you via private transfer back to the international airport for your return flight home.
