Day 1: Upon your arrival to the Panama International Airport, a private microbus will take you to Las Monjas suite at
Los Cuatro Tulipanes, a boutique property management company located in the heart of the most historic and beautiful part of
Panama City: Casco Antiguo. This property was recently restored and gives you the opportunity to experience life as a temporary resident in this unique part of the city. You will have the luxury of a fully self-sufficient apartment with all the benefits of a hotel.
Day 2: Learn more about Casco Antiguo on a day-long tour of Panama's cosmopolitan city center, the International Banking center, the Amador Causeway, Las Americas Bridge, the Panama Canal and the Ruins of Old Panama City. Return to your apartment in time for a cozy dinner at a nearby bistro or cafe.
Day 3: Today you will be crossing a portion of the Panama Canal. From the Flamenco Pier you will be transferred to Gamboa, where the Panama Canal Dredging Division is located. Navigate through the Gaillard Cut and go through Pedro Miguel Locks where the boat will start descending. Then descend 54 feet in the Miraflores locks, before making your way to the Pacific Ocean and returning to Flamenco Pier. An informative guide will lead you through every step of the transit as well as the history of the canal and its construction.
Day 4: Take a transfer from Panama City to Colón along the Panama Canal Railway. The line flanks the Panama Canal passing through lush rain forests, cruising alongside the Canal’s locks, through the historic Gaillard Cut and gliding over slender causeways in
Gatun Lake. After this wonderful adventure you will have the opportunity to explore the ruins of Portobelo before a private transfer takes you back to Panama City.
Day 5: Today you'll have the opportunity to rest and enjoy the beautiful Casco Antiguo area. Go souvenir shopping or visit local attractions.
Day 6: Visit one of the five Indigenous tribes that still exist in Panama. You will go by land and then a dugout canoe called a “piragua” all the way up the Chagres River to an indigenous village. You will see their hand crafts and botanical skills, enjoy their native food and learn more about the traditions and culture of this colorful society.
Day 7: Your historic tour of Panama has come to an end. Today you will take a private shuttle to the airport for your international flight home.
