Day 1: Upon arrival to the Panama International Airport a private transport will pick you up and deliver you to your accommodations. You will spend the first three nights of your trip in the old town of Panama known as Casco
Viejo. As the most cultural part of
Panama City, Casco Viejo is the old
Spanish/French colonial district and is now a UNESCO World Heritage
site. Here, you will enjoy a stay in a beautiful one bedroom luxury
apartment.
Day 2: Depart from Panama City and visit one of the 5 Indigenous tribes that still exist in the country. You will go by land and then a dugout canoe called a “piragua” all the way up the Chagres River. When you reach the Embera village, you will learn first hand about their culture and traditions. You will see their hand crafts and botanical skills, and will enjoy their native food.
Day 3: Today you will follow the path of the legendary pirate Captain Henry Morgan which was used to sack Panama City in 1671. Completed around 1550, this is one of the first roads built by the Spanish Conquistadors and known as the Camino de Cruces trail. The route now lies within the Soberania National Park amid tropical rain forest well known for Howler monkeys, Coati, Collared anteaters, Iguana, and Agouties. Birding is also exceptional.
Day 4: Today a twin engine aircraft will be the transportation method of choice as you fly to Mamitupu, one of the more than 365 islands in the
San Blas Archipelago. Here you will enjoy a Junior Suite at the Dolphin Island Lodge, a series of 11 rustic cabins set amid a Kuna indian reserve. Enjoy the beaches, coral reefs ideal for snorkeling and hundreds of islands around you. Here you will learn more about the Kuna indians, who have inhabited these islands for centuries.
Day 5: Enjoy island life! Take a boat ride and island hop along the Caribbean Coast, go on a snorkeling or take part in a mola making class offered by the locals.
Day 6: Return early to Panama City by plane today just in time for your private, full day city and canal tour. You'll visit Cosmopolitan Panama City, the International Banking center, Casco Antiguo (a picturesque
Colonial oceanfront neighborhood), the Amador Causeway (Pacific entrance to the Canal), Las Americas Bridge, the Panama Canal (Miraflores Locks) and the ruins of Old Panama City. You will spend your final two nights at the luxuiou
s Hotel Deville.
Day 7: Enjoy your last Free Day in Panama! You should be an expert on the different regions, so take in some sun and an open air meal along the Amador Causeway, stroll the cobblestone streets of Casco Antiguo or just relax and enjoy your hotel's charming amenities.
Day 8: Your vacation to Panama has come to an end. A private transfer will take you to the airport where you'll await your international flight home.
