Day 1: Upon arriving to the
San Jose international airport, a private transfer will take you less than an hour outside of the city to the beautiful Xandari Plantation Inn & Spa. Enjoy a relaxing evening in this unique and brightly decorated boutique hotel set on a coffee and fruit plantation.
Day 2: Today you will transfer to the La Fortuna area, home to one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Here you will stay at the
Mountain Paradise hotel, conveniently located a short distance from town with great views of the volcano.
Day 3: Get an up close and personal view of the volcano today on a hike over cooled lava fields to the foot of the Arenal volcano. You’ll stop at an observation point where you can see the lava flow coming down the side of the volcano and feel the earth shaking beneath your feet. End your adventure relaxing in the natural Tabacon thermal hot springs, a maze of warm water streams, waterfalls and tropical plant life with views of the volcano.
Day 4: Transfer from Arenal to the Gulf of Nicoya beach town of Tambor where you’ll stay at the Tango Mar boutique resort, set on a 150-acre private beachfront reserve. Enjoy your own bungalow set back off the beach for an unforgettable retreat.
Day 5-7: These days are yours! Take a day trip to the beach towns of Montezuma or Santa Teresa where you can explore waterfalls or take a surf lesson, or plan a boat tour to the Isla Tortuga. Whatever you choose, make sure you write some good old quality relaxation into your schedule!
Day 8: Transfer back to San Jose where you’ll spend your last evening in
Costa Rica at the hillside
Alta Hotel in Santa Ana. Enjoy a gourmet meal at the award-winning La Luz restaurant as you gaze over the city lights below reflecting on the beautiful sights that you've seen.
Day 9: Your holiday in paradise has come to an end. Take a short private transfer to the San Jose airport for your international flight home.
