For nature and outdoor enthusiasts,
students, or anyone who has ever watched National Geographic and
wanted to see something so unique firsthand. Costa Rica is an
extraordinary land of bio-diversity. Set at the mid point between
North and South America, this country has flora, fauna and
wildlife that most people only see on television.
Day 1: Fly to the San Jose
International airport. Upon arrival you will be met
by one of our representatives, at which point your itinerary will
be explained and questions answered. You will also be provided
with a packet of vouchers and information about your trip.
Transfer to your hotel,
Hotel Bougainvillea. The views across the valley from this
hillside location are wonderful and the gardens are beautifully
designed and well tended. It is easy to forget that you are just
15 minutes from San Jose.
Day 2: Ready for an
astonishing look at Costa Rica's biodiversity? After a comfortable
drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a protected primary
forest, you will enjoy a Costa Rican breakfast en route. Board a
comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this
extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along
the Tortuguero Canals. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious
lunch as you are welcomed to The
Pachira Lodge. After
lunch, we will visit the museum, the beach area and the small and
picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served
upon arrival back to the lodge in the evening. At night, relax at
Pachira Lodge. This small and cozy lodge, especially designed for
the complete enjoyment of the natural marvels of the Tortuguero
National Park, is located on a narrow strip of land between the
Caribbean Sea and the Tortuguero Lagoon.
Day 3: Take a morning tour
through the canals and take your best shot of a real Caribbean
sunrise. Return to San Jose in the afternoon and spend the night
in Hotel Bougainvillea.
Day 4: After a scenic drive
up and over a mountain range via a private microbus (approx. 5
hrs) you will arrive at the tent camp of
Rafiki Safari Lodge. Don't
let the fact that this is a tent camp fool you, this is truly
luxury in every aspect of the word! This luxury tent camp is
nestled on 700 acres deep within the pristine Savegre River
Valley. The South African inspired safari tents are situated on
hardwood decks and provide you an intimate encounter with nature
while enjoying the basic comforts of a hotel room. Large open
bathrooms with hot water are a fueled by the property's own water
and heating systems.
Day 5-6: This is your time to
relax and take in nature! You can sign up for a rafting tour or
horseback riding or just hang out at your tent.

Day 7: Transport to San Jose
by private microbus (Approx 5 hours). Check yourself into
Hotel Grano de Oro. This
hotel occupies a quiet street in the nation's capital of San Jose,
close to the vibrant city center and numerous restaurants,
theatres and shops. Try out their restaurant for some dinner or
explore the city!
Day
8: The adventure isn't
over yet! Today you are on the Costa Rica Highlights Tour. This
all day tour includes Poas Volcano, a coffee plantation, river tour
and more!
Day 9: Unfortunately this
trip has come to an end. You will be transported to the airport to
await your International flight.
