Day 1: After arriving at the Liberia International Airport (LIR) you will be greeted and will take a private transfer to the majestic Arenal Volcano. The Arenal Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and erupts on average every 48 minutes. You will stay at the
Arenal Nayara Resort which is a small boutique hotel that offers private Casitas with Jacuzzi's on the deck and private gardens.
Day 2: Wake up later in the morning and enjoy a
Costa Rican breakfast as today's tour does not start until 2pm. You will be hiking around the National Park at the foot of the Arenal Volcano where your guide will point out all the flora and fauna of the area as well as give you the history of the volcano. After the hike you will want to rest your legs, what better way to do this than in the thermally heated hotsprings of the volcano. Also included is your evening meal at the Tabacon Hotsprings.
Day 3: Ready to ride the bull? Well not a real bull, but the Bull River (Rio Toro). This river is a great intermediate river all year round for people looking to try theirhand at rafting. You will enjoy around 4-5 hours rafting from class I - IV rapids through the rainforest around you. This is a great tour if you are looking to mix nature with adrenaline and adventure.
Day 4: Ready for a change of scenery, country and culture? You will take a 4 hour drive to the border where you will get an extra Nicaraguan Stamp in your passport and then continue about 90 minutes to the city of Granada. You will be staying at the Jicaro Lodge which is on one of the Islands in Lake Nicaragua about 15 minutes from the dock. You will have your own private Casita sitting on the shore of this small boutique island hotel and will be able to enjoy the breezes coming from the lake and the sound of the birds. The staff and service at the hotel is first class and always with a smile. All of your meals are included at this property.
Day 5-6:During the next 2 days choose from the tours available at the property: Granda City Tour, Plantations, Tropical Forest & Hot Springs, Lake Kayaking, Bird watching, Nature Hikes, Artisanal Fishing. These should be booked directly with hotel as most of the time they will be private tours.
Day 7: It is time to say goodbye to Nicaragua as you head across the border into Nicaragua in your private transfer. You will then head through Liberia to the beach town of Tamarindo where you will stay at the
Capitan Suizo Resort in your own private bungalow only steps from the ocean. The Capitan Suzio is part of the small distinctive hotels and Costa Rica and within 5 minutes you may be lucky enough to see a troop of monkeys running through the property.
Day 8:This day is yours to relax or explore the beach town of Tamarindo and the beaches of Langosta.
Day 9: Before you go home we want to give you something to remember and that is the experience of Costa Rica's signature tour, the Canopy Zip Line Tour. You will play Tarzan and Jane as you fly through the rainforest on cables. If you are afraid of heights do not worry, after the first cable you will be having too much fun to worry about anything!!
Day 10: Unfortunately you will be flying home today, you can however always call up, cancel your flight and stay forever!! If you do not, you will be transported back to the airport.
