Day 1: Fly into the Liberia international airport in the heart of Guanacaste where a private transfer will meet you for your trip to La Fortuna, home to the active Arenal volcano. Here you’ll stay at the
Arenal Manoa hotel, a beautiful rustic hotel set on a local farm.
Day 2-3: It’s time to learn more about this diverse region. Spend your first full day in the country hiking around the base of the Arenal volcano along the El Silencio trail over cooled lava fields to an observation point where you will witness the lava flowing down the flanks of the volcano. Then discover the most popular thermal hot springs in the region at Tabacon where a maze of thermal rivers intertwine amid tropical plant life, under bridges and down steamy waterfalls. The next day you’ll explore the Caño Negro wildlife reserve by boat through marshlands as your professional guide points out plants and animals native to the region.
Day 4: Transfer from Arenal to the Northwest Pacific surf town of Tamarindo. Here you’ll stay in luxurious accommodations directly on the beach and in the center of town at the
Tamarindo Diria hotel. The hotel’s two pools and gourmet restaurants all enjoy direct ocean views and are just steps away from the beach.
Day 5-6: These days are yours to relax and explore the town of Tamarindo and other nearby beaches. Visit the Leatherback turtle reserve, book a sunset cruise or just enjoy the wide array of international cuisine and boutique beach shops in town.
Day 7: Set sail along the Pacific coast to some great snorkeling destinations where you can explore the ocean floor below and discover brightly colored tropical fish species. Dry off on deck as your captain delivers you safely back to shore.
Day 8: Your holiday adventure has come to an end. Transfer back to the Liberia airport for your international flight home.
