Day 1: Start your holiday celebration off with some natural fireworks. A private transfer will pick you up from the San Jose international airport to take you to Arenal, home to one of the world’s most active volcanoes. You will enjoy your own luxurious cottage at the beautiful Kioro Arenal hotel, set in front of Lake Arenal.
Day 2-3: Your days in Arenal will be filled with adventure. First, take a guided Arenal Volcano Hike and Hot Springs Tour along the El Silencio Trail over cooled lava fields through a tropical rain forest. The trail leads to an observation point that offers the closest view of the volcano’s lava flow. End the day with a relaxing dip in the Tabacon natural hot springs to prepare for your Caño Negro float trip the following day. A professional guide will point out the diverse plant and animal life in this expansive marshland habitat.
Day 4: Today you’ll change gears and altitudes as you venture to the Fonda Vela hotel, just outside the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The warm, friendly hotel sits on a 150-acre farm and nature reserve and offers hiking trails through the distinct, misty habitat that is home to some of the most diverse plant, animal and insect species in the country.
Day 5: Prepare for an educational day hanging out in the cloud forest tree tops. First, get your adrenaline pumping on a zip line canopy tour as you fly through the forest suspended hundreds of feet up from a metal cable. Then catch your breath as you enjoy the surrounding natural beauty on a guided tour over suspended bridges that bring you face to face with nature.
Day 6: Transfer to the beautiful white sand beaches of Manuel Antonio where you’ll stay at Si Como No, a boutique hotel set on a beautiful location.
Day 7: Take a trip to the Manuel Antonio National Park, part beach, part forest and part marine reserve, you will encounter everything from overly friendly monkeys to beautiful tropical fish and exotic birds. Your guide will point out all the hard to find species and explain the plant life in the most popular national park in Costa Rica. Finish off the day relaxing in one of the sheltered white sand coves in the park.
Day 8-10: These days are yours to relax and work on your tan poolside or on the tropical beaches of Costa Rica.
Day 11: Your holiday in paradise is over. Take a private transfer to the San Jose airport for your international flight home. |
