Guanacaste National Park is located in the province of Guanacaste and lies adjacent to Santa Rosa National Park. This park was created in the year 1989, after renowned American biologist Daniel Janzen campaigned and raised the funds to make this a protected area of the country. The park is home to thousands of plant and animal species including 10,000 different kinds of insects.
