Costa Rica Fishing Tournaments, Los Suenos Fishing, Private Fishing CharterThe sport fishing in Costa Rica is so good that every year there are several national and international fishing tournaments. The most popular and well known event is the Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series held every January and March in Jaco. Whether you have your own boat or want to fly down and charter one of ours for the tournament, we can help you out. If you charter one of our tournament rigged boats for the tournament we will provide the captain and mates, you just do all the reeling! If you already have taken care of your entry fee and application requirements but need help with the other logistics we can take care of all the transportation and luxury accommodations you’ll need. Costa Rica Marlin Fishing, Billfish Tournaments, Costa Rica BillfishLos Sueños Signature Billfish Series - Held every year at the beautiful Marriot Los Sueños Beach & Golf Resort in Jaco. There are two different tournaments each year, one in January and one in March. This is the biggest billfish tournament in Central America and draws anglers from all over the world. In the January 2007 Series a total of 54 boats entered the tournament and caught a grand total of 454 billfish (49 marlin, 405 sailfish).

* The dates for the 2007 tournaments are Jan 18-21 and March 15-18.
* Entry fee per tournament is $7,000 per boat or $10,000 for both series
* Maximum 4 anglers per boat
* IGFA tackle rules apply, 50 lb test line, and must use circle hooks
* Lines in at 8:00 AM and lines out at 4:00 PM
* Cash jackpot: 1st Place = 50%, 2nd Place = 30%, 3rd Place = 20%


Fishing In Quepos, Quepos Sport Fishing, Costa Rica Billfish TournamentCosta Rica’s Classic Billfish Tournament – This relatively new tournament takes place in Quepos/Manuel Antonio in March. Approved by the IGFA for the Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship. This is a different kind of tournament as it is held for charity instead of big cash payouts. Sponsored by the Boomer Easiason Foundation (BEF), this tournament is designed to bring awareness and financial support to those who suffer from cystic fibrosis

* The dates for the 2007 tournament is March 23-24.
* Entry fee is only $700 per angler
* Maximum 6 anglers per boat
* IGFA rules apply, 30 lb test line, and must use circle hooks
* Lines in at 7:00 AM and lines out at 3:30 PM
* Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place boats as well as top overall angler
