Day 1: Fly into San Jose, Costa Rica where you will be met inside the airport and taken right to your waiting private transfer. When you are ready we will take you directly to the beautiful Grano de Oro Hotel in downtown San Jose. This beautiful converted Victorian Mansion will be the perfect place for you to rest up after your day of travel before your fishing adventure beings. The hotel offers rooftop jacuzzis and the best restaurant in San Jose.
Day 2: You will be picked early at 5:30 AM and taken to the Tobias Bolanos Airport for a short flight out to the Caribbean Coast on a private plane. After a quick 30 minute flight you’ll arrive in Barra de Colorado, which is a 400,000 acre nature reserve with no roads, just waterways and canals, and is accessible only by boat or plane. Here you will stay at the nicest fishing lodge on Costa Rica’s Caribbean Coast, the Silver King Lodge. Built in 1990, the Silver King Lodge has established itself as the premier destination for tarpon and snook fishing. Upon arrival you’ll settle into your room, eat breakfast, and get a quick overview of the lodge and guidelines for tarpon fishing. As soon as you are ready you can head out fishing on your private boat with your personal tarpon guide. You will fish until about 11:30 AM when you’ll head back for lunch and a quick rest. At about 1:00 PM you’ll head back out fishing until you come in for good around 4:00 PM. Enjoy a full dinner and then afterwards relax the bar and watch satellite TV or relax your muscles with a massage or a dip in the new hot tub.
Day 3: Wake up and eat a full breakfast before you head out for another day of fishing. Another great benefit of the Silver King Lodge’s private guides is that it allows you to fish where you want and for what you want. If you are tired from fighting mammoth tarpon from the day before, take it easy with a half or full day of fishing for rainbow bass and snook in the calm back waters and fresh water lagoons.
Day 4: Full day of tarpon fishing! Test your skills and strength with another day of fishing for Costa Rica’s silver king.
Day 5: Full day of sport fishing. If you are needing a change of scenery, go out into the pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean for a day of off-shore fishing. Just miles from the lodge you can catch mahi-mahi, wahoo, tuna, and even sailfish.
Day 6: Last day of fishing! Go out and get the one that got away or take your last shot at catching that world record tarpon!
Day 7: Get up early for one last delicious breakfast before the Silver King Lodge takes you to the Barra de Colorado Airstrip. Take a 30 minute flight back to San Jose for your international flight home.
