Pachira Lodge

The lodge is strategically located only 5 minutes away from the extraordinary Tortuguero National Park and right across the main canal facing the town of Tortuguero. Surrounded by a network of very scenic canals, this is considered one of the most exotic regions of the world and is characterized by its rich flora and fauna.

Pachira Lodge is the newest lodge in Tortuguero and is just minutes from Tortuguero National Park. All of the spacious rooms feature a private bathroom, hot water, and ceiling fans. High quality, buffet-style meals are included. Tortuguero is the most important nesting site in the Caribbean for several species of turtles. Every year the hawksbill, loggerhead, green turtle, and huge leatherbacks come here to nest before returning back to the open sea.

Tortuguero is an area of Costa Rican wilderness with arguably the greatest biological diversity. With 11 distinct habitats, over 2000 species of plants, 400 individual tree species and a rich residency of wildlife, the experience is simply incredible. Crocodiles are regularly seen swimming through the canal cruising for fish or sunning themselves on a log. The elusive jaguar is also found in this area as they love to snack on the turtle eggs and sometime the turtles themselves! Fishing in the canals for mojacca and guapote is always entertaining, but the real challenge lies in trying to land one of the monster tarpon that are found in the Caribbean.
