Places to Visit: Quepos/Manuel Antonio

Fishing For: Snapper, grouper, snook, jacks, roosterfish

Day 1: Fly into San Jose, Costa Rica where you will be met inside the airport and taken right to your waiting private transfer. From there we will drive you 2.5 hours up and over mountains and down to the Pacific Coast until we reach the fishing town of Quepos and the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. Here you’ll stay at the gorgeous La Mansion Inn, which is one of Manuel Antonio’s top boutique hotels. With just 34 rooms you are guaranteed great service and the peace and quiet you deserve on a tropical vacation.

Day 2: Use this day to catch up from sleep after a day of traveling. You can relax at the pool, walk to the nearby Playa Biesanz, or take the free shuttle to the Manuel Antonio National Park.

Day 3: Your first full day of fishing! Head out on the clear blue Pacific waters in front of the Manuel Antonio National park and troll near the rocky islands and under water reefs for a huge variety of game fish. On any given day you can catch mackerel, jacks, African pompano, grouper, cubera snapper, red snapper, dog tooth snapper, barracuda, and of course the prized roosterfish.

Day 4: This day is yours! This is a free day to relax and just enjoy your beautiful surroundings in Costa Rica. Hang out at the pool or head down to the Manuel Antonio National Park to enjoy their three gorgeous beaches and wildlife including monkeys, iguanas, snakes, and sloths.

Day 5: Full day of sport fishing! Head back out for another day of nonstop action inshore fishing. If you want to try something really fun have your captain take you in close to the river mouths near the national park where you will cast into the surf and wait for the really big snook to come. Assuming all goes well, you are eating fresh ceviche by sunset!

Day 6: Take a break from the fishing and see what else Costa Rica has to offer. Play Tarzan as you ride the zip-lines over and through the rain forest. Canopy safari offers 21 platforms, 12 cables, and two Tarzan swings!

Day 7: One more half day of in-shore fishing along the Central Pacific’s vibrant coast. The rocky coast line and several islands make for the perfect habitat for huge roosterfish and sometimes even yellow-fin tuna.

Day 8: Get picked up at the hotel and taken to the Quepos Airstrip just 10 minutes away. Avoid the traffic and 3 hour drive by taking a 25 minute domestic flight back to San Jose and the international airport for your flight home.
