You’ll combine big game fly fishing off-shore with fresh water fly fishing on a jungle river in the same trip. Head to Quepos where you will fly fish for sailfish and marlin along with two days of fly fishing on the Savegre or Naranjo Rivers for machaca, grunts, roncadores, and snook.

Day 1: Fly into San Jose, Costa Rica where you will be met inside the airport and taken to your waiting private transfer. We’ll take you straight to the sport fishing capital of Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio. Here you’ll stay in your own private bungalow at the beautiful Tulemar property. This 33 acre private property will provide you with a truly Costa Rican experience by combining luxury, privacy, rain forest, wildlife, and a beautiful beach on the Pacific Ocean. Your 645 sq ft bungalow will come fully furnished with two queen beds, AC, kitchenette, and international cable TV.
Day 2: You will be picked early in the morning for your first day of sport fishing! You’ll go to the brand new Marina Pez Vela where you will board your private sport fishing boat for a day of big game hunting with your fly rod. Blue, black and striped marlin can be found 23-40 miles off-shore as well as Pacific sailfish and our experienced crews will make sure you get your chances – but landing a trophy billfish on the fly is up to you!
Day 3: Head out fly fishing on the Savegre River to try your hand at smaller game. You and your guide will float down the mountain fed river in a customized three man raft as you cast towards the shoreline or behind structures for mochaca, rainbow bass, grunts, roncadores, and snook. Justin hails from Colorado and has been fly fishing his entire life so you couldn’t have a better guide on this trip.
Day 4: Take this day off to relax and rest your arms, you’ve deserved it! You can explore the Manuel Antonio National Park on your own or just relax at the private beach on the Tulemar property. The private beach offers complimentary kayaks, boogie boards, and of course beach chairs if you are feeling lazy.
Day 5: Head back out on the Savegre River or Naranjo River for more fresh water fly fishing! If you find a spot you like you can even beach the raft and cast from shore or wade out into the river.
Day 6: Get back out on the Pacific Ocean for one more day of deep sea fly fishing. If you weren’t able to land a marlin or sail on your first day this is your last chance! Our captains will put you on the fish and our mates will tease them close to the boat so you can cast your fly to a 8-10 ft long giant!
Day 7: Relax and enjoy your last day in Costa Rica, you’ve earned it!
Day 8: We will pick you up and take you to the Quepos Airstrip so you can board your domestic flight for a 25 minute flight back to San Jose.
