The Tabacon Resort and Hotsprings is probably one of Costa Rica's most famous hotels as it was one of the first hotels in Arenal. On arrival you are met by beautiful tropical gardens and a direct view of the volcano.
Check-in was easy, we just had to fill in some small details and then we were taken to our room. It can be seen quickly that the hotel takes pride in its high level of 5-star service and the hotel is super clean.
We stayed in a garden room which is the same as the Deluxe and Superior room except we did not have a direct volcano view. This bothered me to start with, however it became apparent that 90% of the time you cannot see the volcano and the best views are from the hot springs.
The only negative about the hotel is that the food is very expensive with breakfast being around $30 per person, lucky we had it included.
The free access to the hot springs is the best feature though as typically people pay about $70 for the day for this.
All together a great experience and I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
