The Makanda by the Sea property is one of the oldest luxury hotels in Manuel Antonio. On arrival you enter a mini tropical rainforest world with private white walled villas set back into the rainforest with stunning ocean views.
Check in is easy and very relaxed as you do it with a cocktail and a smile. On arrival to your villa you understand how private the villas and studios are. The rooms are very spacious with vaulted ceilings and panoramic views of the rainforest and ocean. All of the rooms have AC and the beds are canopy beds. If you do not like bugs then maybe this is not for you as Costa Rica does have bugs, but some repellent will take care of this.
The defining moment at the hotel was breakfast in bed every morning and continues to be in my dreams. It is not often you get fresh fruits and eggs in bed on your vacation.
I would highly suggest this property for any couple looking for a memorable stay in Costa Rica and Manuel Antonio.
