The Springs is a magnificent structure set back amidst the trees and fields opposite the Arenal Volcano. It is not far from the town of La Fortuna, however it did feel far away as it is reached by a private 3.5 km road that is not very smooth! We were told this road is going to be redone very soon, along with the rest of the construction.
As The Springs is brand new, some parts were incomplete when we visited including the Casino and Games level, the male spa and many of the rooms. Most of the hotel will be completed by December 2008 by which time I imagine it will be an amazing location to take in the sights of the Arenal Volcano.
The rooms are large and well-made, the swimming pools and slides are fantastic and great for those who love to splash around! What impressed me was the fact that the grounds are so vast and therefore encourage natural guests to visit! While there we saw an armadillo just walking past and there are plans to create a wildlife centre and tours to see the big cats they have roaming around the private fields.
The hotel was built with the volcano in mind and it is something which strikes you from the moment you enter the reception, with sensational open views!
The Springs seems ideal for families but i also think they can cater for all travelers; there is so much on offer be it a Spa, a swim or just a spot of roulette, there will be something here to suit you!
I believe when this hotel is complete it will be a great place to spend the day as there will be so much to do on site you may not want to leave! My only concern would be that it does not feel like a very natural way to experience one of Costa Rica's great sights - but this may be the point, when you stay at The Springs you will know what you're paying for and that will include everything you need! | | | | Posted by tmcgrath on 9/18/2008 4:18:05 PM | The swimming pools and slides, the wildlife and the panoramic views from the restaurant! | Distance from La Fortuna and Construction. | |
